I have just read the excellent behavioural analysis report from the Broadmoor psychologist . I have just had a bad experience and she could be describing me- I was almost unable to speak ( some people might think that is a good thing 1)
When little emotion is obvious at times of severe shock /distress , no conclusions can be assumed .
I am aware that some fish store up food in case they are ever bullied by bigger fish of a different species. I have been told that they hide the food under rocks where they sometimes sleep and guard it simultaneously. It is also useful should they ever be unable to escape and need to wait a long time before they can get away. The fish who threaten are anonymous and therefore difficult to handle .
sounds sensible ... you just reminded me of a brilliant film I saw recently called My Octopus Teacher - well worth a watch if you haven't seen it, about a guy who makes friends during underwater dives in south africa, with an octopus

Yes I agree , lack of displayed emotion under stress is not unusual
