"Innocent until found guilty." This must mean, if kept on remand, accommodation in a five-star hotel. This is what happened to Saudi Princes and the like, when some were accused of corruption.
If found not guilty, then compensation in the amount, day for day, that a five-star hotel would have cost.
5 star hotel or overcrowded prison , it is the loss of freedom that counts. I don't think Britain has the ability to keep people prisoner in 5 star hotels, they would get out .. I remember them trying to keep people locked in hotels during covid quarantine but people easily escaped that ..
Hard to pick the bones out of this piece even if I were so inclined ( but I am not). It seems that rules can be stretched/ utilised as required. Regarding Lucy L., has there been any progress regarding the examination of the records of all the babies who were ever in her care ? I wonder how or whether this is monitored - it should be for the sake of accountability and justice.
If you mean the investigations the police claim they are doing in other hospitals where apparently Lucy worked, then I think we are supposed to assume its ongoing. The idea is ridiculous. They are looking to find murders in the past which nobody noticed at the time
Thanks for the links will have a look. I only looked at England and wales stats , so not sure about Northern Ireland either - the whole of the UK is down the toilet!!

Utility !
Excellent article! A quarter of the Scottish prison population is on remand. It's big business, each inmate costs £129 per day.
